Cannot download new version of Hay Day + blocked

I love this game. Would like to play, but I cant. Its been that way for more than two days!!! I open the game to a screen that says I need to download new version. I click "Download" and App Store seems to think Im current and tells me I can "Open". I click Open and Im again told that I need to download. Loop. Loop. Loop. Lots of others have reported this problem. Pretty lousy user support.

I also notice that new app reviews/complaints are no longer being displayed.

I think maybe its time for me to move on to a different game.
